A revitalised Bayswater Village

The transformation of Bayswater Village is nearing completion.

This renewal started in 2016 with the removal of the level crossings at both Mountain Highway and Scoresby Road.

The works included the construction of a premium train station built specifically for the Bayswater area, which complements the backdrop of the Dandenongs.

A new shared path on the south side of the train station is completed, which makes connections for cyclists and pedestrians easier and safer.

This area showcases the beautiful new mural ‘Connecting to place, connecting people’, which was designed by Aboriginal artists, Graffix Creative and students from the Bayswater Secondary College.

Now, the main Bayswater Village retail precinct along Mountain Highway is being transformed with streetscape works and the undergrounding of overhead power lines.

The streetscape upgrade also includes installing feature paving, seating and bicycle hoops, landscaping including trees and garden beds, public art and infrastructure to improve outdoor eating areas.

All these changes have created disruptions for the local traders so they would welcome visits and support during this transformation.

All will be completed soon, creating a revitalised Bayswater, making it an exciting and attractive place for shopping, dining and doing business.
