Pink Boots Hire
Jessica Gilchrist and her family launched Pink Boots Hire in July 2017, a new business that provides scissors lifts, all terrains, cherry pickers and knuckle booms.
Over the past 12-18 months of her entrepreneurial journey, Jess has overcome cancer, major surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, lack of experience and much more.
Located in Bayswater North, Jess is using Pink Boots Hire as a vehicle to give back to those who helped her and also empower women in trade related industries where so few women work.
From every hire, $10 goes directly to the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre and in just three months the total donated has been an extraordinary $17,581.
The entire team wears pink steel cap boots as part of the uniform with $10 from every pair of boots sold going directly towards people across Australia who are affected by breast cancer.
Jessica took on the challenge of running the business after being approached by her father in December 2016 to rebrand, expand and develop an existing access hire business.
“When my dad asked me to join an industry I knew nothing about, I thought of a quote I once read from Richard Branson, ‘If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later’,” said Jessica.
