Face masks in the workplace
From 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July, people living in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire are required to wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four permitted reasons, including in the workplace. A face covering needs to cover both your nose and mouth. The fine for not wearing a face covering will be $200.
Even with a mask, you should keep 1.5 metres distance between you and others.
As an employer, you are required to ensure your employees wear face coverings if they are working, unless an exception applies.
