Upgrade to Scoresby Village

New community dining areas are coming to Scoresby Shopping Village to further support business recovery.

Council received $300,000 through the COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund from the Victorian Government to expand our existing business recovery initiatives. This project is being delivered by Council’s Economic Development team.

This fund will support the development of more outdoor dining locations, beautify our local streetscapes, and deliver a range of events in our activity centres to increase foot traffic.

In Scoresby, one dining area will be located on the corner of Ferntree Gully Road and Lynton Place. It will consist of two spacious picnic tables and seven benches. The area will be lined with a hardy grass garden bed, and glass screens will be installed on three sides to reduce traffic noise.

The second dining area will be located in the Daryl Street park opposite the large carpark. This area will contain two modern dining pods that are wheel chair accessible, artistic mudstone seating, and two solar powered lights to improve safety and visibility at night.

These works are expected to be completed by the end of May 2022.

The new dining locations are a great way to provide extra seating to businesses in the area.
