Knox Community Safety Forum

Knox City Council has been successful in receiving a Victorian State Government Empowering Communities grant funded by the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Knox City Council are inviting businesses/traders to attend the Knox Empowering Communities – Community Safety Forum.

The initiative will partner with the community to address local issues impacting on crime and perceptions of safety. The initiative will fund innovative, evidence based approaches to address the underlying causes of crime and improve community safety.

A key event in the Empowering Communities initiative is to hold a Knox Community Safety Forum to bring together a diverse range of community members and community organisations, together with Council and professional organisations whom work within our Knox community.

Diverse community participation is valued to contribute to an understanding of :

  • The issues impacting crime and perceptions of safety in the community
  • The underlying causes in Knox
  • What priority areas we should focus on
  • What strengths in the community, and what activities already in the community we can build on

The forum will be held on Thursday, 5th of May 2022. It will be located at Hyatt Place, Caribbean Park, Scoresby from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

This invite is also extended to individual community members whom live in Knox and have an interest in improving safety in Knox.

Registrations are essential.
