Investing in people, culture and growth at Kwik Kopy Knoxfield
Kwik Kopy Knoxfield has been a trusted part of the local business landscape for more than 25 years, supporting organisations across Knox with design, print and signage solutions. In June 2024, new owner Scott stepped into the business with a clear vision, to re-energise its direction around three core pillars, design, print and signage, with a strong focus on B2B service and long-term client relationships.
Since then, the business has experienced rapid growth, becoming one of the fastest growing Kwik Kopy franchise. For Scott, however, the real success is measured in people and culture.
“We’ve built a high-performance, service-driven business with four local team members, and culture has been at the centre of everything we do,” Scott said. “When your people enjoy coming to work, customers feel it. That translates directly into better service.”
A key example of this investment in people is Jamie, a recent trainee who joined the business without any print industry experience. Coming from a horticulture background, Jamie brought curiosity, enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn, qualities Scott sees as more valuable than technical skills alone. In just seven months, Jamie has developed strong technical capability and become a valued member of the team.
“What’s been most rewarding is seeing Jamie grow in confidence and capability,” Scott said. “With the right support and mentoring, he’s become an important part of how we deliver for our clients every day.”
By building a team with diverse experience levels, Kwik Kopy Knoxfield has created an environment where learning goes both ways, fresh perspectives meet industry experience, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
“We learn from each other every day. That balance between new ideas and experienced guidance is what keeps us evolving,” Scott said.
Scott is also a regular attendee at Knox Biz networking sessions, where he connects with other local business owners and values the opportunity to share insights and build relationships.
“The Knox Biz networking sessions have been a great way to meet other local businesses and understand what’s happening across the region,” he said. “There’s real value in those conversations, you pick up insights, build relationships, and often find opportunities to collaborate.”
For Scott, the advice to other business owners is simple, hire for attitude and invest in culture.
“You can always teach skills, but you can’t teach mindset,” he said. “Protecting and nurturing your culture is one of the most important things you can do as you grow.”
Looking ahead, Kwik Kopy Knoxfield remains focused on supporting local businesses. “We’re proud to be part of the Knox business community and excited about continuing to grow alongside the businesses we support,” Scott said.
