COVID Concierge service for business

Knox business owners needing support with COVIDSafe requirements, can get one-on-one help through our COVID Concierge service.

This service is designed to help businesses stay safe and open for our community, and local economy.

Our dedicated COVID Concierge Officers have been visiting businesses to assist with COVIDSafe best practices, including:

  • COVIDSafe plans
  • QR codes for visitor records
  • signage for capacity limits and physical distancing
  • cleaning advice

Council Officers will work closely with hospitality businesses, retailers, community groups and organisations until the end of November 2021.

Resources to help your business re-open

Victoria is reopening in line with the Roadmap to Delivering the National Plan.

To support businesses as they talk to their customers about the new requirements, a Stakeholder Pack of communications resources has been developed and is available to download.

The Stakeholder Pack contains the following:

  • Guides and templates for you and your workers
  • Posters and flyers for display
  • Suggested copy for your website
  • Suggested copy for emails shared from your business
  • Suggested copy for SMS messages

Small/medium business COVID safety forum - Hospitality - restaurants and cafes

When:    28 October 2021, 2:30pm-3:30pm

Small to medium restaurants and cafes in the Hospitality industry are invited to a forum with the Department of Health (DH) and the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) on Victoria's Roadmap and new COVIDSafe settings.

The session will include:

  • Updates on the Roadmap and restrictions settings
  • CHO Directions (including the vaccination requirement for workers)
  • Business requirements (including COVIDSafe Plans, QR codes and vaccine status check-in)
  • Business support services (including grants and health and wellbeing)
  • New signage and posters.
  • Penalties
  • An opportunity for discussion and questions.

When:    29 October 2021, 10:00am-11:00am

Food Allergen Training for Small to Medium Manufacturers

When:    11 November 2021, 2:00pm-4:00pm

The Knox City Council, City of Greater Dandenong and Kingston City Council invite you to attend a Food Allergen training session for small and medium manufacturers.

This training session is designed to support proprietors and quality assurance managers to understand their allergen management responsibilities under the Food Act 1984 and FSANZ Food Standards Code.

The training session will include:

  • Food allergens and intolerance
  • Allergen labelling requirements
  • Allergen management – key concepts
  • Introduction of new product lines
  • “Free From” Claims
  • Validation of labelling claims
  • Resources
  • Mandatory anaphylactic notifications

Business Energy Savers Webinar on Energy Efficiency Upgrade Subsidies


When:    18 November 2021, 6:00pm-7:00pm

Join the experts from Green Home Green Planet, EcoVantage and Shine-On for a panel discussion and a Q&A session.

You will find out everything you need to know about how to upgrade your old, inefficient and high energy consuming appliances to a modern and more efficient one for minimal cost. These changes can save you between 15-25 per cent on your annual electricity bill, which can then be reinvested into your operations.

Small businesses can apply for a bonus of up to $2000 each for a range of eligible upgrades. With the bonus amounts, you can cut installation costs by up to 85-95 per cent.
