Restaurant and cafe licence information session

As the holder of a restaurant and cafe licence there are many obligations you need to follow to supply liquor safely. You’re invited to an online information session to explain the obligations for operating a business with a restaurant and cafe licence.

The session will cover:

  • understanding the conditions of your liquor licence
  • take away and home delivery requirements
  • footpath trading and off-site catering
  • how to be inspection ready
  • liquor portal and licence renewal.

You will have the opportunity to hear from LCV staff and ask questions. If you have a staff member who would benefit from understanding the obligations of a restaurant and cafe licence holder, encourage them to register.

Enrolling for council elections

The next council election is on 26 October 2024. Find out if you need to enrol to vote.Those on the state roll will automatically be enrolled to vote in the council elections. If you need to check or update your state enrolment details, visit vec.vic.gov.au/enrolment.

This election, the rules have changed for some other categories of voters.People who own property in Knox but live elsewhere need to apply online to Council if they want to vote. Ratepayers who are not Australian citizens, those who pay rates on a property they occupy but don’t own, and a director or secretary of a corporation that pays rates can also apply to vote.

It is not compulsory for you to enrol with council to vote. However, if you are eligible and decide to enrol as a council-enrolled voter, voting is compulsory in the election. Council enrolment closes at 4pm, Wednesday 7 August.
