Mental Health Promotion Training Workshop Two

Mental Health Promotion Training Join Knox City Council and Prevention United to build your knowledge, confidence and skills in mental health promotion practice Mental health promotion aims to tackle the underlying root causes of mental ill-health by addressing risk and protective factors in the settings in which people are born, grow, learn, work, play and live. There will be two workshops on offer:

Workshop one: An Introduction to Mental Health Promotion Workshop two: Mental Health Promotion in Action
Workshop one will cover: 
  • Mental health promotion vs mental 
  • healthcare 
  • Key concepts and definitions
  • Why focus on wellbeing, prevention, and 
  • mental health literacy?
  • What works in wellbeing and prevention?
  • The current state of promotion and 
  • prevention in Australia
Workshop two provides a more detailed ‘deep dive’
into applied aspects of mental health promotion and 
will cover:
  • Designing wellbeing and prevention programs
  • Defining your target audience, risk and 
  • protective factors, and settings for action
  • Choosing the right intervention strategy
  • Achieving change through social policies 
  • Measuring your impacts

Who should attend: anyone working in health promotion, public health, mental healthcare or psychosocial support who wants to upskill in mental health promotion.

Both Workshops will be held at Knox City Council Civic Centre, in Function Rooms 3 & 4. 

Facilitated by Dr Stephen Carbone, CEO and Dr Luke Martin, Head of Programs from Prevention United. You may register for one, or both workshops. You do not have to attend workshop one to attend workshop two.
